Born and raised in Ottawa, I started taking pictures seriously using my dad's old Minolta. In high-school I took part in the photography after-hours program and, while not the next Ansel Adams, I did well. Since then, though, it has been a steady stream of incremental improvements that have shaped and defined my style. A serious interest in the arts and technology lead down an obvious path: graphics and web work. From promotional posters to full-on websites (including this one), my passion for all things design-related is growing.

I like to consider myself an artist, in spite of the stigma often associated with the term. As such, my focus in work is the artistic side of everything. I specialize in portraits and landscape/urban photography but enjoy experimenting in new fields, topics, techniques and contexts. Photography constitutes a wonderful documentary tool, and putting it to good use is paramount. Whether it is recording the beauty of a waterfall or the savagery of a protest, my camera is my lens on the world. While I seek the beautiful in the world, I do think it is important to also document the factual and, as such, enjoy partaking in photojournalism. While I have only moderate experience, I do my best to better myself and create a more well-rounded repertoire of skills.

While I can wax poetic forever about my photographic aspirations, it must be said that I do enjoy working on graphic design projects almost as much. The act of creation, regardless of medium, is what really drives me. Whether it is organizing simple elements on a page or creating an entire brand identity, I simply cannot get enough.
